We’re excited to share highlights from an active and enriching April 2026 at the Islamic Center of Prosper!
Our Family Night featured an engaging talk by Sr. Roohi on the conquest of Gibraltar and the rich legacy of Muslim Spain. It was a wonderful evening of learning with a great community turnout.
Our youth also came together for a meaningful food drive effort, helping organize and prepare donations for those in need—an inspiring display of teamwork and service.
Our weekly community programs continued to grow:
- The Adult Quran Study focused on Tajweed and foundational Quranic Arabic.
- The ICNA Sisters Tafseer explored deeper meanings of the Quran with practical reflections.
- The Final Journey series offered powerful reminders about the Day of Judgment and preparation for the Hereafter.
- Quran Academy
This month, the Quran Academy launched a refreshed curriculum. Alongside continued focus on Quran recitation and tajweed, two new areas have been introduced:- Quranic Arabic, helping students understand and apply the language of the Quran in both study and daily life
- Prophetic Stories, ensuring children develop a meaningful understanding of the lives and teachings of the Prophets
- Our approach goes beyond pronunciation—students are building vocabulary, comprehension, and a deeper connection to the Quran. The goal is to nurture confident young Muslims who understand, reflect on, and live by its teachings.
- Sunday School
As the school year wraps up, students have been reviewing surahs, ahadith, and key Islamic studies topics in preparation for final assessments. They are now getting ready for finals and graduation, and we look forward to celebrating their achievements at next month’s ceremony, insha’Allah.
Our youth programs remained active and engaging :
- The Chess Club helped students build strategy, confidence, and critical thinking.
- Youth Fitness Training with Coach Sherif promoted strength, agility, and healthy habits through fun, guided activities.
Alhamdulillah, it has been a month full of learning, growth, and community spirit. We look forward to continuing these programs and seeing you all participate!
